How much does Online Banking cost?

Online Banking is FREE to all Premier Bank clients.

What do I need to enroll for Online Banking?

To enroll for Online Banking you need an active Premier Bank account. One of our personal bankers or Customer Care Representatives can set you up over the phone or in a branch.

How do I sign in?

Simply enter your Online Banking User ID in the Online Banking Login box on our home page, www.premier-bank.com and then enter your secure password.

Viewing Your Information

What accounts can I view?

Once you are registered with Online Banking, you can view any account or loan, view your online e-statement, transfer funds, review account history, and make bill payments. Online Banking allows you to verify your deposits and to use Check Imaging to view and print your cleared checks.

With Check Imaging, you can view the front and back of your paid checks online and even print a copy of the check. For your convenience, check images will remain online for 13 months.

To view your paid checks online, you must sign into Online Banking. Then, select the account from which the paid check in question was drawn (located in the "Deposit Accounts" column) and click on any paid check. The checks will appear bold and underlined.

What if all my accounts do not appear on my account list?

You must be a sole or joint owner on an account to have it added to your account list. If an account falls in this category and is not shown on your listing, simply contact us to have it added.

Can I access my IRA accounts with Online Banking?

Yes. You can view your account information, but cannot process transactions using Online Banking.

How current is the information in Online Banking?

The information displayed in Online Banking is real time information. You will see transactions post to your account as they occur. The available balance in your checking and savings accounts will change throughout the day based on your activity. As you use your Visa debit card, use an ATM, or transfer funds between accounts, your available balance will be updated to reflect that activity as it occurs.

Why does it sometimes appear that my Visa Debit Card transactions are posting twice?

Merchants use telephone communication to approve transactions from your card. They receive a pre–authorization and a permanent authorization, both of which appear on your account information. You may also see a pre–authorization for $1.00. There will be an offsetting credit in the same amount. In every case, the amount charged to your card will equal the amount of your purchase.

What does the "downloading" feature do?

The download option allows you to download your transactions into Microsoft® Money (OFX), Intuit® Quicken (QFX), Intuit® QuickBooks(QBO), Intuit® QuickBooks (IIF), Personal Finance (QIF), Spreadsheet (CSV) or Word Processing (TXT).

Why doesn't my Online Banking Password work?

You may be entering the wrong User ID or Password, or you could be locked out of Online Banking. You are allowed three login attempts; on the third attempt, if invalid, you are locked out of Online Banking. In addition, if you have not logged in to Online Banking in the past 90 days, you will be locked out of the system.

How can I prevent getting locked out of Online Banking? (coming Feb 1st)

"Password Self Reset" is available for your convenience! After you have successfully logged on to Online Banking for the first time, go to the "options" tab to select your secret question and answer. Now that you have selected your security questions, if you are ever locked out you can select the "Reset Password" tab at the top right of your screen. Follow the instructions and answer the questions. Your current password will now be set back to your original password.

Why does my password expire every 90 days?

While it may seem like an inconvenience to require you to change your password, this is an essential piece of the multi-layered security approach. Compromised user data becomes a commodity on the open black market for cyber criminals. Although you can't prevent customer data from being acquired, you can help to ensure that your data is not useful to the criminals by changing your password frequently.

Why can I not use my previous 4 passwords?

This prevents you from switching back and forth between familiar passwords each time the password expires and further promotes security on your account.

What characters must make up my password?

Passwords must be between 6 - 8 characters. Passwords must contain alpha and numeric characters. Passwords cannot have repeating characters. Passwords are not case sensitive.

What if I want to use a special character in my password?

Our system will only allow you to add a special character in your password once you are already logged into Online Banking. To change your password to include a special character click on the "Options" tab and enter your new password. Additionally, 14 days before your password expires the system will alert you during Online Banking log in that your password is about to expire and you may choose to reset your password with or without special characters at this time.

Password strength is an important consideration. Obviously, the more complex a password, the harder it is to guess. When presented with the option to use a 4-digit PIN (numbers only) many users will use 1234 or 2468 – something simple and often tried by fraudsters.

Password Tips: Choose a password that is memorable, but hard to guess. Make sure that it is NOT a name, a word, or something associated with an individual, such as login ID, birth date, initials, children's names, a sport, etc. Ensure that the password is NOT related to a place of business or a project, and avoid keyboard related passwords such as "asdfjkl" or repeating sequences such as "111111" or "aaaaaaa." Do not use English or foreign words proceeded with a number or special character such as: "Computer1," "2Micheal," or "Redskins!."

Choose passwords that are a combination of disassociated words, or compose a password from the first letters of a verse in a favorite poem, song or movie. You can also consider coming up with a sentence about your life and turn the letters of that sentence into a secure password you can remember. The following examples illustrate how a password could be composed:

  • twrnika (Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore)
  • 2bon2b (To be, or not to be that is the question)
  • m1cwa98n (My first car was a 98 Nissan)

Note: Do not use any of these examples since they have been made public.

Payments are sent either electronically or by paper check, depending upon the payee's ability to accept electronic payments. Electronic payments take up to two business days to reach your payee while paper checks may take up to eight business days-please consider this when selecting your date.

Payments will be electronically deducted from your checking account on or after the process date, never before. For your convenience, you have the option of setting up payments as one-time only or recurring.

If you are concerned with privacy you should clear the browser's disk and memory cache after logging off.

Should I take special steps to ensure security of my personal information?

Since browsers cache (store) information that was just displayed, we recommend closing your browser after viewing or performing financial transactions, especially if someone else may use the same computer. It is also important to note that some browsers cache pages that are viewed during secure connections to the computer's hard drive. This can make it possible to view account information after you have closed the session. Your password can never be obtained from this, but anything you viewed, such as account balances, may be viewed later. Various browsers, browser versions, and browser platform implementations handle and configure this differently. This is a function of the Web Browser and will occur on any Internet site that you access a secure connections. It is not unique to Online Banking.

We recommend that you clear disk and memory cache. We recommend you use caution when accessing secure sites like Online Banking over the Internet and recommend you avoid using public computers in places such as libraries and universities to access secure information. We discourage the usage of the "saved password" option on various browsers. Remember to logoff after using Online Banking, clear disk/memory cache, and close/exit your browser when leaving your computer.
